FORM OpX and Key Survey are Moving to the Cloud

Until August 2023, FORM OpX and Key Survey SaaS products were exclusively hosted on servers owned by FORM. These servers were located in collocation facilities belonging to our partners in Massachusetts and California.

However, as the number of our customers and the amount of data we help our customers collect has been growing rapidly over the years, we need to be able to scale faster than ever before. If we stay in our current data centers, we will not be able to scale as quickly as we need to serve our customers.

We’ve determined that the solution is to migrate our data to the Cloud, and after carefully evaluating multiple cloud providers, we have chosen Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as our hosting partner. In addition to being the recognized leader among cloud service providers, Google Cloud was also chosen for the following reasons:

  • Many of FORM’s products are already hosted on GCP, including GoSpotCheck, FieldConnector, and ShelfWise, and we have built a great long-standing partnership with the Google Cloud team over the years

  • GCP provides state-of-the-art scaling capabilities with Google Kubernetes Engine

  • Google Cloud security tools and existing certifications met all of our rigorous requirements, including SOC2, ISO27001, ISO27701, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance, among others

We believe that migrating to the Cloud will allow us to provide an enhanced level of service to our customers, better scale and grow to our customers' demands, and provide the level of data security, privacy, and business continuity that our customers require.

Our goal is to make the migration as seamless and as transparent to our customers as possible. However, we also know that many of our customers have built various integrations and customizations with us, some of which will impacted by the migration. Please see the information below to determine if there is any action required on your end.

How to Prepare for the Upcoming Migration

In addition, we aim to minimize any downtime during the migration. With the exception of a single scheduled maintenance interruption on the day of the migration in January, we do not expect any unplanned service interruptions. The exact date and time of the interruption will be announced 30 days before the planned maintenance window.

Please see our FAQ page for common questions and more information about the Google Cloud migration. If your question is not on the list, please do not hesitate to reach out to FORM support at or to your account manager to discuss the details.
